Fall Comes Early at Trader Joe’s! Find out if these five fall treats are worth trying.

With the dawn of autumn, many companies have begun to line their shelves with fall-inspired products. Although fall began this past Thursday, the lack of leaves falling makes it feel like summer is here to stay. But regardless of the Southern California weather, companies are keen to bring us that cozy, fall feeling through various food items

By far the most popular of these brands, Trader Joe’s has become infamous for their seasonal snacks, meals and treats. I had the opportunity to review these new products — a treat as delightful as the products themselves.

The fall-themed snacks and drinks I reviewed were pumpkin spice batons, Pumpkin Spiced Teeny Tiny Pretzels, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, Pumpkin Joe-Joe’s and apple cider.

To preface, I may have more harsh taste buds than you, so feel free to try these products and make your own judgments. However, there were times when my expectations for each product were swiftly changed as well.

Pumpkin Spice Batons

The first snack I tried were pumpkin spice batons. Although I think these could be a good option to sip on your oat milk latte with, I did not like them. They could’ve had a stronger pumpkin flavor. Overall, they were bland. I wanted a flavorful, crunchy baton, but instead, I got a bland, edible pumpkin straw. Still, I enjoyed them enough to give them 3/5 stars.

Pumpkin Spiced Teeny Tiny Pretzels

My second choice was what I was most excited for: Pumpkin Spiced Teeny Tiny Pretzels. Despite the somewhat silly name, I couldn’t resist buying them. However, I was thrown into a sense of agony as soon as I took my first bite. I felt as though I took a bite out of pumpkin seed, as the pumpkin flavor overwhelmed the chocolate and salt..

All of the chocolate and salt flavoring was lost with these pretzels. I was pretty disappointed, since I am a huge chocolate pretzel enthusiast. Unfortunately, I had to give these pumpkin spiced teeny tiny pretzels a mere 2/5 stars.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Next, I moved onto baking pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I had high hopes for these, and they did not disappoint. As soon as I took a bite, I knew Trader Joe’s had done something right. The pumpkin and chocolate mix was perfect, and the oatmeal cookie base was a great touch.

I would label these cookies as a necessity for your fall hangouts. They’re an easy and delicious treat to make anywhere there is an oven. I gave these pumpkin chocolate chip cookies 4/5 stars.

Spiced Cider

The next fall item I picked up was the spiced cider. As the most popular fall beverage out there, at least from Trader Joe’s, I had to review it.

The taste of this drink made me feel like fall was in full motion. This spiced cider is the essence of fall — nothing will top it for me. It doesn’t matter if you heat the drink up, enjoy it cold, or even try to freeze it, it’s incredible. As one of my favorite drinks, it warrants a high score. I gave this apple cider 5/5 stars. Go try some!

Pumpkin Joe Joe’s

Lastly, I tried an absolute staple in the community of Trader Joe’s — Pumpkin Joe-Joe’s. To be honest, my expectations for these were quite low. Typically, a dessert that is pumpkin flavored is not my favorite. But, much to my surprise, these really impressed me.

The pumpkin was subtle, but you still knew it was there. Like the cider, it tasted like fall. If you’re not careful, a whole box of these could be gone in minutes. If you like regular Joe-Joe’s, you have to give these a try. A definite 5/5 stars.

I’ve given you a few of my opinions, now it’s your turn. Go out and give some of these Trader Joe’s fall products a try. The selection is endless, and it’s always fun to try new sweets and treats.
