Transform any room or yard into a holiday wonderland.

Thanksgiving is over which means it’s time to put out the  Christmas decorations. If you’re looking for decoration inspiration for your apartment, dorm or outdoor space then look no further.

Decorating for the holidays can be a struggle with the cost of decorations and the multitude of options especially when working with smaller rooms.

But if you’re short on cash or square footage for your indoor or outdoor space, that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on holiday style. Some budget-friendly ideas for Christmas decorations are to shop at thrift stores, to recycle decor and to use seasonal fruit as a display.

Additionally, you can decorate a tiny studio in the same manner as a house even though they vary in square footage. Less is more. In order to make your living area more spacious, don’t put up too many cluttering decoration pieces. Instead, put subtle decorations and utilize what the space has.

Another way to decorate is to layer the decorations and not add bulky decorations which makes the decorations blend to the color scheme of the area. One way to do this is to put a wreath on the back of a chair. Or add ribbons to sculptures and put a wreath by an art piece.

Here are some other simple ideas to add some Christmas spice.

  • Using festive colored tassel tiebacks, tie them around the post of a staircase. They can be festive colors that go with the furniture.
  • Use silver punch bowls for decoration by putting citrus fruits of different sizes and colors such as oranges, lemons, blood oranges, and limes.

For outdoor spaces, implement green and natural colors wreaths. The natural elements used on the wreaths can be pine cones, magnolia branches, juniper berries in bundles and pine branches. Also, by using a combination of natural elements and faux green the decorations for Christmas last longer.

For a modern Christmas decoration assemble lanterns that are geometric, abstract wreaths and wooden skis. A modern Christmas decoration assembly can be left up even after Christmas.

For the front porch layer the Christmas decorations with gilded trees and poinsettia plants. Another layer can be added such as ribbons and ornaments by the front of the porch.

Brighten up your porch by illuminating it with garlands that are strung with lights. By wrapping

the area of the door and the porch with light-strung garland it’ll brighten up the porch. A white wreath can be added with modern lanterns to complete the bright decor.

Window frames can be decorated with plaid, pine cones and garland for a classic and subtle Christmas decoration.
