The spring season is among us which means it’s time for months of music festivals. If you’re looking for local festivals to attend then here are five taking place in southern California. 

Starting strong is Coachella  which is among the most popular music festivals in the world.  This year, Coachella takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. The festival is from April 12-14 and April 19- 21.

The majority of people know about Coachella and several celebrities attend this event. Coachella is more than a music festival. It is a culture where people annually make fashion statements with their Coachella outfits. Various news stations and magazines cover the outfits that many celebrities wear to the event. 

The festival has a lineup of several famous artists such as Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert and Doja Cat. Various music genres are performed such as pop, rap and hip-hop. The general admission tickets range from $400 to $600 and include access to the venue on all three days as well as the camping areas. The VIP passes are $1200 and include access to specialty food and drink vendors, air-conditioned restrooms, shaded seating areas and full no-host bars. 

The second festival is Beach Life Festival which takes place in Redondo Beach from May 3 to May 6. This concert lineup includes several rock, reggae and hip-hop artists such as Sting, the Dirty Heads and ZZ Top. The tickets cost $179 for a one-day pass and $399 for a three-day pass. There will be several vendors to buy locally sourced beverages and food as well.

Additionally, the Beach Life Festival has more than 50 musical performances along with four stages on the beach As a bonus, there will be free water hydration stations to keep you hydrated in the hot summer sun. 

The third music festival, “Just Like Heaven,” is located right at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on May 18. The festival has a lineup of several indie and electric rock artists such as the Metrics and Phantogram. 

The tickets for general admission that include food and beverage vendors are $200. The VIP pass is $380. The VIP pass includes wristband access to the VIP entry lane and to the VIP areas that are adjacent to both stages. The pass also includes complimentary parking, more seating options, exclusive food and beverage options and fast-lane access at Main Festival Merch. 

The fourth festival is the Outlaw Music Festival which takes place at the Hollywood Bowl on July 31. The festival has a lineup of various folk, rock and bluegrass artists such as Bob Dylan, Billy Strings and Brittney Spencer. 

The tickets are $90 for the nosebleeds seats and $700 for front-row seating. 

Last but not least is the fifth festival, Hard Summer  which takes place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood from August 3 to August 4. Hard Summer is one of the top festivals in the world and a must-attend event for music lovers. The festival has a lineup of several rap, hip-hop and pop artists such as Nelly Furtado, Lupa and Disclosure. 

The tickets for the general admission are $170 and includes access to both days of Hard Summer. General admission also comes with free water refill stations, food and beverage options and bar access. VIP admission is $199 for a one-day pass and $345 for a two-day pass. This includes access to the VIP splash pool, VIP viewing area at every stage, expedited VIP festival entrance and more.
