And their SoCal friendly

In less than a week fall will be upon us and the days of white jeans and bright colored nail polish  will be banned in the fashion world until next spring.

When September hits, I’m ready to pull out my combat boots, sweaters and beanies, but I alsolive in a warm climate. Fall doesn’t really begin until December. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of this season’s fashion trends that not only fit a fall aesthetic, but also 75 degree weather so that you’re not sweating in your knit pull-over. And by the way, you probably already have most of these items in your closet!

First on the list is wide-legged jeans. Jeans will always be classic, but the wide leg takes it up a notch. We’ve been living in the era of skinny jeans for years, and it’s finally time to start branching out. Not only are wide-legged jeans in, but they’re also ultra comfy. It will feel like you’re wearing pajama bottoms, which is perfect for transitioning out of quarantine.

Want to be on trend without going way out of your comfort zone? Then you’re in luck. Another trend of the season is puffer vests. Puffer vests are perfect for a warmer climate like Southern California and are also easy to style because they go with just about anything. This is especially true if you go with a neutral color, like black, grey or navy.

As someone who is drawn to yellow clothing, I’m excited that yellow is a popular color this season. Specifically butter yellow and a darker mustard-like yellow. Both of these shades make sense for fall as they are a bit more muted compared to the happy, bright and sunshine summer yellow.

Thought animal print was out? Think again. Animal print has been popular throughout spring and summer of 2020, but it’s here to stay for fall and winter. Though animal print, whether cheetah, zebra or snakeskin, is often found on jackets and coats, there are also plenty of shoes, tops and accessories that sport these wild patterns.

For all my flannel loving friends, you’re in luck: plaid is in this fall! Whether it’s a skirt, dress, pair of pants or your basic flannel, you’ll be in style if you sport a little plaid this season. Too hot to wear a flannel? Try tying it around your waist. This look pairs well with a t-shirt dress.

Feeling lazy when it comes to finding clothes that match? Fear not, monochromatic looks are all the rage. If you so happen to have red shoes, red pants, a red shirt and perhaps a matching red accessory, then you, my friend, are ahead of the game. Is red a little too much? A subtle black or beige will also do the trick!

Got an inner cowgirl or cowboy just waiting to come out? Well, fringe is so it. You’ll find fringe mostly on shirts, jackets and sweaters. Fringe takes your average top and transforms it into something with a little extra pizzazz.

If all else fails, there is always your basic browns, neutrals and nudes. These colors are cozy but also lowkey. Perfect for the relaxed vibe that fall so often gives us. Whether you want to rock a nude lip, eyeshadow, sweater, tank top, pair of pants, blazer or just a simple pair of sweatpants, you’re sure to be in style.
