Azusa Pacific closed out the Hawai’i Pacific Sea Warriors in a 69-52 win Saturday night in a matchup between the two PacWest powerhouses, who currently sit atop the conference in the second and fourth positions.

The Cougars led the Sea Warriors the entirety of the game. However, the lead did not go uncontested. The Sea Warriors turned the 12-point halftime deficit into a one-point game in the opening four minutes of the second half.

The Cougars answered with a 23-7 run, bringing them to their biggest lead of the night with 8:45 to play.

Four Cougars ended the night in double-digit scoring, led by junior guard Allison Greene with a game-high 18 points and four assists.

Junior forward Sendy Valles posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, followed by freshman center Maggie Dumphy with 16 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Sullivan Ziegler wrapped up the double-digit scoring with 12 points.

The Cougars will conclude their home schedule with matchups against Hawai’i Hilo Monday night and Point Loma Saturday afternoon before traveling to San Francisco for a potential conference championship game against the Academy of Art, which currently leads the PacWest.
