The ’90s. In the short two years I lived in the era, there are plenty of things I can remember. Despite being young, things seemed culturally easier and carefree compared to life now, including the choice of fashion. If you’re a freshman or sophomore, you probably weren’t born in the exciting decade that was the ’90s. But if you’re a junior or senior, you’ll most likely remember seeing these accessories while growing up and now notice that they’ve made a successful comeback in modern fashion.

  1. Round glasses

It seems as if glasses have their own way of getting around the trends, because most styles don’t necessarily conform to the pattern of trends that other accessories or clothes do. However, these stylish shades can pair well with anything. For example, round glasses were first introduced in the ‘70s but they reached popularity in the ‘90s, and continue to be in the trend today. According to Stylecraze, they used to be considered goofy or nerdy looking, but thanks to popular department stores, you can pretty much find this look anywhere on the market. If you look in the right place, you can even find a prescription version, too! For the bold type, Urban Outfitters sells these glasses in several colors, including orange. For those that want to dip their toes into the ‘90s comeback trend, these glasses are the way to go.

  1. Doc Martens

At the time, these boots were the boot. Everyone had a pair of the popular Doc Martens back in the day. Now, they are becoming a staple in fashion. But what makes them so unique and favored? Their versatility is a definite factor; You can pair them up with basically anything! For women, they can easily compliment slip dresses or skirts, and for men, they go nicely with your favorite pair of ripped jeans.

  1. Overalls

Every ’90s kid has to relate to this one. Who didn’t grow up wearing overalls? We can thank our parents for putting us in those comfortable or uncomfortable denim onesies. Whether you’re going to the mall or hosting a party, overalls never disappoint. Today, you’ll find them everywhere varying in shape, size and color. Their comeback, according to Insider, only affirms the idea that overalls weren’t just for kids and can make your ensemble look effortlessly cool.

  1. Fanny packs

What was considered only an accessory for dads, this unique belt bag is now becoming an accessory that has not only caught the attention of millennials but also Generation Z. These street-style packs have seen a 265 percent increase in the U.K. and a 115 percent increase in the U.S., according to Edited. In fact, their comeback is so popular, you’ll find them at luxury brands such as Gucci, Tory Burch, Versace and Prada

  1. Leather jackets

Leather jackets may have gone out of style for a few years, but there is no arguing they are back from their last swarm of attention in the ’90s. Fashion trends definitely have their ebbs and flows, and leather jackets are really right at the center. If taken care of correctly, leather jackets can last a very long time allowing you to where them when they are in style or out of it. Not only do they provide a distinct and sophisticated look, they can also live out their purpose to keep you warm. Just like Doc Martens, there is so much you can do with a good leather jacket. Yes, it can be a bit pricey, but their longevity will keep you prepared for their next era in the fashion world.

These are just some of the many trends that have made their comeback from the ’90s, making Throwback Thursday an everyday occurrence. Some of the older generations might see these trends as confusing or childish but for us they can easily take us down memory lane. One thing you can’t deny about these fads is that they definitely catch your eye, and for those individuals who are embracing this reality, let the nostalgia from our childhood live on!
