Azusa Pacific’s School of Music is hosting several music events in the coming days. Here is what you need to know:

Friday, November 1

Gospel Choir: Fall Gospel Music Heritage Concert

APU’s gospel choir will perform their annual gospel heritage concert on Friday in Munson Chapel. The night will be filled with celebration of the history of gospel music. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. 

Saturday, November 2

Chamber Singers: Back to the Future

In the 20th anniversary of Chamber Singers at APU, the music department will celebrate the history of the program with their fall concert. The theme of the night is throwback favorites from the last 20 years of performances. The performance begins at 8:00 PM in Munson Chapel.

Sunday, November 3

University Choir Concert

The University Choir will perform at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena on Sunday evening. The choir will sing Renaissance style music in the cathedral in a manner that is reminiscent of that time period. The concert runs from 4-6 p.m.

Monday, November 4

Guitar Departmental Recital

The Guitar Departmental Recital showcases the talents of guitarists across APU’s undergraduate, graduate and certification programs. A few alumni will also return to join the group on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Munson Chapel. The event will feature solos and a variety of different styles. 

Wednesday, November 6 

Night of Percussion 

A ‘Night of Percussion’ will be filled with traditional and contemporary compositions performed by APU’s Percussion Ensemble. The ensemble will be led by director Bill Schlitt in their fall feature — a treat for those looking to add a little rhythm to the middle of their week.
