Baseball (4-1)

The team traveled to Cal State Monterey Bay for back-to-back double headers on Feb. 5-6.

The Cougars split Thursday’s games (L, 12-3; W, 3-2) before sweeping the Otters Friday (W, 10-4; W, 5-4).

Daniel Martin hit three home runs and had nine RBIs in Friday’s games.

Water Polo (4-4)

The women’s water polo team tabbed two wins on Saturday, Feb. 7 in a mini-tournament at Whittier College. APU dominated Occidental (16-4) and Redlands (16-6).

Senior Taylor Whitney led game one against Occidental with five goals, while three other Cougars recorded hat tricks in the win.

Whitney tabbed another hat trick against Redlands, joined by Alba Espinar with another. Nine Cougars scored in the win.

Women’s Tennis (1-2)

The women’s team opened its season this week with matches at Cal State Fullerton (L, 3-4), Point Loma (W, 5-4) and UC San Diego (L, 3-6).

Men’s Tennis (2-0)

The men’s team opened its 2015 campaign this weekend at UC San Diego (W, 5-4) and Point Loma (W, 5-4).

The women’s and men’s teams compete again Feb. 14 at Vanguard. Keep an eye out for a breakdown of the teams, players and the remainder of their seasons in the Feb. 18 print issue.

Swim & Dive

Azusa Pacific finished second in Saturday’s tri-meet, tallying 116.5 points to Concordia’s 127.5 and Biola’s 55.

The Cougars posted eight first-place finishes, led by Rosalee Mira Santa Ana, who tabbed the first of the day in the 1,000-yard freestyle event. The freshman also won the 500-yard freestyle race.

Senior Quinn Robertson edged competitors in the 200-yard freestyle event while Erica Knudsen did the same in the 50-yard free.

Track & Field

The Cougars won six events in Saturday’s Westmont Sunshine Invitational.

Sydney Eaton tied for first place in the women’s high jump as LaJuan Moye grabbed the outright win in the men’s.

Cory Crawford finished first in the men’s 400-meter race and Talaisai Taueli won the men’s shot put event.
