Azusa Pacific swim and dive dropped Saturday’s dual-meet 179-109 to Cal State East Bay.
Two Cougar swimmers posted first-place finishes in the loss: freshman Rosalee Mira Santa Ana and sophomore Heidi Zuniga.
Santa Ana claimed first place in the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle races. Her 17:31.52 time in the 1,650-yard freestyle placed her 43 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Zuniga edged her competitors by five seconds in the 200-yard butterfly.
Freshmen Kianna Mourer and Hailey Viehmann took first and second places for the Cougars in the 1- and 3-meter diving events, competing unopposed by any Pioneers.
The team will compete again Jan. 31 against Division I opponent Pepperdine.
