November 5—National Redhead Day
National Redhead Day, also known as Love Your Red Hair Day, is observed on November 5th each year. The day was founded in 2015 by the Vendetti sisters, Adrienne and Stephanie, who wanted to empower redheads to love their hair color. The Vendetti sisters co-founded “How to be a Redhead,” the first brand specifically for redheads, which includes a website, beauty book and subscription box. They started “Love Your Red Hair Day” in response to online negativity about red hair, such as a “Kick a Ginger Day” site.
Red hair results from a rare genetic mutation found in about 2% of the world’s population. National Redhead Day is a time for redheads to celebrate their hair color and share their experiences with others. Some ways to celebrate include attending redheaded gatherings, parades, or photo contests. People also share photos of their red hair on social media using the hashtags #NationalRedHeadDay and #LoveYourRedHairDay.

November—No-Shave November
No-Shave November is an annual event that takes place throughout the month of November. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for cancer prevention, research, and education. The idea originated in Australia in 2003 between two “mustache-loving mates.” Over the years, No-Shave November grew in popularity. By 2013, it had become a cultural phenomenon as men and women worldwide put down their razors for the month of November to support men’s health and other important causes.
The non-profit organization No-Shave November was founded in 2015 to lead the movement officially. In 2022, No-Shave November partnered with 13 organizations, including Fight CRC (Fight Colorectal Cancer), to help end cancer. Over the years, Fight CRC has received millions of dollars in funding from No-Shave November.
No-Shave November focuses primarily on men’s health issues, including Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Mental Health Issues, such as depression, and Physical Inactivity. Since the organization partners with different cancer organizations, a variety of cancer-related causes benefit from the money raised each November.
Participants can “get involved” by growing a beard or mustache, letting their leg hair grow, or skipping waxing appointments. The general rules of No-Shave November are simple: refrain from shaving for the entire month and donate the money you typically spend on hair maintenance to the cause.
For those who cannot or choose not to grow their hair out for the month, there are other ways to participate:
-Support someone who is participating.
-Donate to a participant or team.
Spread the word by sharing information about No-Shave November on social media or posting a flyer with the hashtag #NoShaveNovember.
-Donate directly to the cause through their website.
Conclusion
Overall, November is filled with joy, lots of food and opportunities to connect with loved ones while taking advantage of special offers. Whether it’s appreciation day or simply finding great deals, there’s something for everyone to celebrate. Have fun!
