Lil Peep, Tim Burton and Monica Lewinsky expected to be on your screens

With spring break coming up, most students are going to spend their week out on an adventure or holed up watching movies in bed. Either way, it’s a win. If you’re the latter, here’s a list of the top movies and TV shows coming to your screen in March.

100 Humans

Where to watch: Netflix on 3/13

This intriguing show is a Netflix original. It’s hopping on the ongoing trend of exposing reality TV. The premise is that 100 people of all different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures will participate in “fun” experiments to dive deep into the foundations of human nature. The show could be a potential disaster or eye-opener, depending on the content and extremity of the experiments.

Everybody’s Everything

Where to watch: Netflix on 3/4

Lil Peep’s documentary will be added to the list of musicians who give an inside perspective of their life. The trailer shows a boy growing up with dreams, who never imagines moments like Post Malone calling him a star. Despite having adoring fans, Lil Peep seems humble, “I’m not really a professional musician, I’m just good at speaking into a microphone.”

Corpse Bride

Where to watch: Netflix on 3/1

Tim Burton finds a way to use dead brides and eyeballs to stir an emotional romantic story, and I couldn’t be more excited to watch this movie again. While this movie might have been deemed too scary for a childhood sleepover, we can finally watch it again without our eyes closed.

Tigertail

Where to watch: Netflix on TBA

Indie films are making their way to the heart of America. There are not a lot of details out there, which builds suspense. What we do know is that the film produced by Alan Yang (Parks & Recreation) and will tell his family’s story from living in Taiwan to New York through multiple generations. The family’s story starts with a young factory worker in Taiwan, who moves to New York, leaving everything behind. As the years unfold, the past becomes more important for their family.

Love Island Australia

Where to watch: Hulu on 3/13

If you’ve been watching the Bachelor and feel unsatisfied with the season, then I would suggest Love Island. It’s a hybrid between “Bachelor in Paradise” and “Survivor.” The contestants go through each week flirting their way to the top, hoping to find love. This season should be juicy, as there are a pair of twin sisters, coupling ceremonies and never-ending drama. On top of that, who doesn’t love an Australian accent?

Little Fires Everywhere

Where to watch: Hulu on 3/18

Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington star in a series based off of Celeste Ng’s award-winning novel. A mysterious woman takes up rent in a pristine suburb, bringing a troubled past and her daughter. The series captures the lengths of a mother’s love, sparking feelings of regret.

Hillary

Where to watch: Hulu on 3/6

The unreleased show is already causing controversy by the trailer alone. The timely four-part series will show Hillary Clinton’s biggest life moments from an exclusive perspective. Some of the topics will be: The Monica Lewinsky Scandal, Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial and her own run for the presidential office. The trailer gives a sneak peek of old home footage, unseen interviews and more information than ever told before.

After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News

Where to watch: HBO on 3/19

It was only a matter of time until a documentary about fake news was released. There is a lack of details on the film, but it will discuss the harm that misinformation can cause on democracy.

Yesterday

Where to watch: HBO on 3/7

“Yesterday” was a film that starts like a lot of stories, the underdog is struggling to make their mark on the world. Cut to the songwriter, Jack who gets into a crash. The result? Nobody in the world remembers the Beatles. His story unravels as he navigates this newly found secret. Overall, it’s a nostalgic story.

It’s time to bundle up and choose some shows to binge-watch this week.
