Three vehicle thefts have been reported in the past week, according to DCS.

A total of three cars have been stolen in the past week from APU property. Two vehicles have been stolen from East Campus and one from a garage at Alosta Place, according to an email sent out by the Department of Campus Safety (DCS) on Tuesday, Nov. 6. DCS will not release details of the thefts while the Azusa Police Department investigates these crimes, “So as not to compromise the police investigation.”

While grand theft autos aren’t 100 percent preventable, the email explained that “vehicle thieves and car burglars are typically opportunists, seeking unlocked vehicles and those with property inside that is visible through the windows.”

DCS urges students to follow the safety tips included within the email. ZU News will provide updates on these cases as they come.
