The fight against abortion continues, and it’s winning

One of the reasons many Americans voted for Trump was because of his promise to defund Planned Parenthood and help the fight against abortion. Former president Obama formed policies that gave way to aborting fetuses much easier. President Trump is now overturning many of these policies that prevented states from cutting Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.

In April 2016, the Obama administration had sent a warning to all states that restricting Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood would be a federal law violation.

According to the Washington Examiner, “the Obama administration sent the 2016 letter after 10 states moved to end Medicaid funding to the women’s health and abortion provider.”

For the conservative, the cause to defund Planned Parenthood (PP) has been a major priority among other things. I believe this to be a win. After videos of Planned Parenthood employees selling aborted baby body parts for profit came into public view, we were outraged.

Actions of the like are illegal, and there should be no reason for the government to fund an organization like PP when there are dozens of other women’s health care services available in the U.S.

I am fully aware that President Trump is not the president we would have wanted, and I admit that there are things he says that any man or woman should be upset about, and be justified in that response.

But, one thing I have found to be true about Trump is that there is a clear difference between his policies and his rhetoric. Right now Trump’s verbiage is terrible, but his policies in the past couple of months have been really great.

Nobody has the right to end another human being’s life, especially ones that cannot defend themselves. Infants are not blots of tissue. They are not moles or tumors to be cut off. They are living human beings, which is a scientific fact.

The Left does not believe this, however.

Did you know that Iceland and Denmark are killing babies with Down syndrome through abortions, as well as claiming they have eradicated the genetic disorder in their countries? Well of course you won’t have anyone with Down syndrome; you’re murdering them in the womb.

The U.S. follows suit in this with a high rate of targeting babies with Down syndrome in the womb and aborting them. Luckily, according to Life News, “Utah is aiming to become the fourth state to ban such abortions.”

State lawmakers are planning to pursue a legislation that would make it illegal for medical providers to perform abortions on babies for the sole reason that the child would be born with Down syndrome. Rep. Karianne Lisonbee, R-Clearfield, claims that the bill would make such abortions a class A misdemeanor if passed.

I believe under Trump’s administration this will pass as well as gain traction. Hopefully other states will follow suit and begin to make such laws as well. Indiana, Ohio and North Dakota all have protections set to protect babies with Down syndrome.

For how much the Left cries about defending minorities and the forgotten, you would think they would fight for those with mental or physical disabilities. Watch this video of a Dutch government official telling a man with Down syndrome how “expensive” he is.

The fight for life continues, but under Trump’s administration, we can gain a lot of traction in this war. I know people are put off frequently by Trump’s rhetoric, but there are valid policies coming out out that help causes like anti-abortion and other conservative movements.
