Annual event rings in men and women’s basketball season

The spotlight was on APU men and women’s basketball during the annual Midnight Madness event Thursday evening. The event welcomed the new season for the two teams and entailed a three-pointer shooting contest, dunk contest and introductory dance for the freshmen and transfer students on the teams. Not only did this kickstart the new season, but it also served as a reminder that APU’s biggest rivalry against Biola was here to stay. Freddy Cougar took on a Biola foe at the beginning of the night with lightsabers and epic moves.

Men’s basketball has their first official home game against Colorado Christian on Nov. 14, while the women’s first official home game is on Nov. 10 against Cal Poly Pomona.
