Friday, Nov. 14, Anaheim Stadium’s Diamond Club hosted 1,000 Azusa Pacific students at the annual Les Femmes dance.

Les Femmes is a glamorous dance event where APU ladies get a chance to come up with creative ways to invite a date. This year’s theme was semi-formal but inspired by baseball.

APU went to the ballgame. Upon entering the premises, most guests exited to the exterior of the Diamond Club to take in the atmosphere. Although usually filled with thousands of baseball fans, Anaheim Stadium was secluded, just for APU.

“Les Femmes taking place at a baseball stadium was a great idea. The stadium is an incredible venue, and there are good vibes enjoying the night with friends,” said junior Joshua Azevedo.

The interior of the Diamond Club was designed as a dance club for the night, with strobe lights and a TV screen filming live action from the event. A variety of music played, from Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” to Don Omar’s “Danza Kuduro.”

“We wanted to give students an experience they couldn’t typically go do on their own,” said the Office of Communiversity Graduate Assistant Audrey Hale.

Hale also mentioned that how hard the Communiversity interns worked at being able to snag Angels Stadium, and luckily it all worked out.

“Les Femmes has been a nice event. Everyone gets the opportunity to look really classy, and we get to have a good time,” said sophomore Nicole Parrish.

Guests were given the opportunity to take pictures on the field with Communiversity cameras and props fitting the baseball theme. Hale said as a whole the office felt the night was a great success and that it seemed like students really enjoyed themselves, especially the photo op on the field.
