Azusa Pacific’s women’s volleyball team lost 3-0 against Dixie State in St. George, Utah, Friday night.
The loss evened APU’s record at 7-7, 4-2 in conference games. Dixie won the first match 25-14, the second 25-13 and the third 25-22. The Red Storm improved its record to 9-5, and has yet to fall in six conference games.
Azusa Pacific junior outside hitter Mattie Shelford had 11 kills and 7.5 points, followed by senior outside hitter Alicia Utke with five kills on the night. Sophomore middle blocker Ashley Midland and junior outside hitter Katy Crouse had four kills each.
Dixie State’s team hitting percentage was .405, its season best.
APU travels home for a non-conference match against La Sierra Oct. 7 at 5 p.m.
