Azusa Pacific men’s soccer team claimed its third win of the season with a 1-0 shutout at UC San Diego Saturday night in double overtime.

Over 100 minutes of soccer passed before the one and only goal was scored. Junior Keenan Armbrust took the right-footed shot from the top of the box in the 102nd minute of the game to give APU its only goal.

APU took 17 shots in the game while UCSD took 16. Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Jaramarillo and Titans’ Cameron McElfresh each recorded six saves. Both teams took five corner kicks.

APU’s record improved to 3-1 on the season while UCSD dropped to 2-5.

The Cougars return home and have a week’s reprieve before facing Point Loma at home Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
