Trinity Hall’s First and Second South residents were able to move back into their dorms Jan. 13 after restoration crews fixed the water damage from the flood of Monday, Dec. 1.
“It feels really good to be back, especially with the new carpet. It doesn’t smell like guy anymore; it smells like a new hotel. So I guess it turned out pretty good,” said freshman undeclared major Christian Caraveo, a Trinity First South resident.

Immediately following the flooding, Trinity resident advisors temporarily assigned housing to residents who were unable to stay with a friend or family member for the remainder of the fall semester.
“We had immediate help from the RAs, campus safety, facilities, housing, warehouse operations and residence life. Everyone worked very hard to keep the damage at a minimum and to take care of the residents,” Trinity Resident Director Rachel Lincoln said. “The Trinity RAs were so helpful in communicating information to residents and meeting needs where they could.”
Campus safety and facilities management staff directed all questions regarding restoration and financial details to Rick Orr, manager of maintenance services. Orr did not respond to multiple calls to his office or emailed questions throughout the course of several days. Trinity RAs were instructed not to comment on details.
