Drinks

Nestled within the quaint town of Arcadia, California, Café Maji offers simplicity and affordability with a Korean twist. While the location is a bit unconventional, considering it resides on the second level of a fitness center, the trek to 56 E Duarte Road is worthwhile.

Upon arrival, you are greeted with charming displays of bookshelves and trinkets strategically placed around the room – creating a rather studious, but enjoyable atmosphere. And like many other cafés, Maji has free Wi-Fi and ample table space, which makes it an ideal place to hit the books.

Though the shop is small, it houses a unique assortment of lattes, teas and lemonades. Due to Maji’s low prices and large portion sizes, some customer favorites include the “Oreo Café Latte,” “Strawberry Banana Smoothie” and the “Passion Lemonade Tea.” As one guest described, the drinks are “to die for” because not only does this café produce the “best shakes in the entire world,” but also uses “the perfect blend of ingredients.”

While the beverages are substantial enough to satisfy any grumbling stomach, Maji also sells an array of sandwiches, waffles and pastries. For lunchtime, try either the “Bulgogi Quesadilla,” or “Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich” – you won’t be disappointed.

Overall, the levels of presentation Café Maji upholds are nothing short of exemplary. Every dish looks just as delicious as the next, which often leads customers to take pictures of the art sitting in front of them. With over 400 reviews on Yelp, a 7.6 out of 10 rating and a spot on the “Ten Cutest Foods in the San Gabriel Valley,” this establishment proves how great hidden treasures actually are.
